"Ini sangat penting untuk para pemuda di seluruh dunia terus melakukan apa yang seharusnya mereka lakukan (bersuara di sosial media). Sangat penting untuk terus memposting, terus bersuara tentang apa yang sedang terjadi," ungkap Afaf dalam acara International Youth Forum For Palestine yang diselenggarakan bidang Kepemudaan DPP PKS, Kamis (20/05/2021).
Afaf menambahkan dengan bersuara di sosial media akan memberikan suatu dampak yang besar sehingga jangan sampai melewatkan momentumnya.
"Karena ini membuat suatu pengaruh dan memberikan perbedaan yang besar, alhamdulillah. Jadi ini penting, jangan sampai membiarkan momentumnya redup," ucap Afaf.
Afaf mengatakan, mereka di Palestina juga melakukan hal yang sama (red: bersuara di sosial media) walaupun beberapa platform sosial media menangguhkan akun yang mereka miliki.
"Kami mencoba yang terbaik agar momentum ini tidak redup. Kami tau instagram mencoba untuk melakukan sensor pada konten kami, facebook mencoba untuk menangguhkan akun kami. Bahkan saya mendapati akun twitter saya ditangguhkan hingga kurang lebih 3 hari setelah saya mengirimkan email. Kami katakan, 'tidak apa-apa, mereka mencoba membuat kita diam berarti apa yang kita lakukan bekerja'," papar Afaf.
Afaf mengungkapkan banyak orang yang akhirnya juga mulai menyadari dan mendapatkan kebenaran tentang penjajahan Israel terhadap Palestina lewat sosial media tersebut.
"Alhamdulillah, dari sosial media dan karena kerja setiap orang yang menyuarakan palestina banyak orang yang mencari tau, banyak orang orang yang mulai mengerti dan menyaksikan kebenaran tentang penjajahan Israel yang coba disembunyikan. Ini waktunya mereka melihat kebenaran," jelas Afaf.
